For some people, having a coffee or warm drink every day is routine; it’s a habit. But for some, it is a ritual. It is sacred and a time for them to be fully present. No matter what your morning ritual is, taking time to be mindful and present while doing it improves your life. Pawel and I have been making cappuccinos together every morning in our Philips espresso machine and spending this time together has become a new ritual for us. Whether we have a warm drink out on the patio during chilly mornings or bring an iced coffee with us on a hike, the ritual of being fully present and enjoying each morning has stuck.
Our Favourite Homemade Cappuccino:
We use a soy-based “barista blend” to get the best froth on our cappuccinos. Soy milk seems to produce the best froth out of all the plant-based milks we have tried!
We use a local coffee (whole bean because there is a grinder inside the machine that grinds it fresh every time!) and I love that buying a bag from our favourite coffee shop and making it at home helps save a bit of money. Sadly our cappuccino art skills are non-existent so we don’t ever have a fancy design on top, but it still tastes amazing!
Some details on the Philips 3100:
- There are 5 preset drink settings.
- The grinders are 100% pure ceramic: extremely hard and precise, so you can enjoy fresh aromatic coffee for at least 20,000 cups. To put that in perspective, that means Pawel and I could have 2 cups a day each for the next 13 years!
- The adjustable spout on the espresso machines will fit every cup and prevents the coffee splashing or cooling down while pouring into your cup.
- It’s available for purchase on Amazon, Canadian Tire and The Bay.
