Roasted Chickpeas (Airfryer Recipe)

It’s back to school season and I am partnering with Philips to show you how you can use the Philips XXL airfryer to make a healthy and delicious plant-based lunch.

The Philips XXL Aifryer uses powerful hot air to fry your favorite food with a tablespoon or less of oil. It also removes excess fat from the food, capturing it all in the bottom. No other airfryer on the market can do this!

Today we are making roasted chickpeas, which are amazing on their own as a snack, or on top of a salad. I love how easy it is to make these- just throw everything into the airfryer, turn it on, and come back to a delicious, crispy, protein-packed snack. The XXL Airfryer can hold up to 3 pounds, that’s a lot of chickpeas! But feel free to make as large or small quantities as you like.

Back to School Portable Recipe: Crispy Chickpeas

  • Author: Liv B

Description

Crispy roasted chickpeas made in minutes in an air fryer!

Ingredients

  • 115 oz can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to your Philips XXL Airfryer and stir quickly to combine (no pre-heating required!). Cook at 350 F for 10 minutes, then stir and cook another 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  2. It’s as easy as that! I tossed some spinach in a vegan ranch dressing, then topped it with the chickpeas. This is a lunch that takes minimal effort, but delivers a ton of flavour and nutrition. I also served it with some tortilla chips, salsa and fresh chopped veggies.

Notes

You can experiment with the flavour of the chickpeas by adding different herbs and spices. You can also make a sweet version with cinnamon and brown sugar. The options are endless so grab your airfryer and try them for yourself!

The Philips XXL airfryer launched in stores this month.  You can find it at Hudson’s Bay Company, Amazon and Home Hardware.
