Description
These Vegan Chilli Heat Sausage Pretzel Bites are made using plant-based sausages, rolled pizza dough, baked and topped with sesame seeds.
Ingredients
The Bites
- 1 store bought pizza dough ball
- 3 plant-based sausages
- 1 tbsp vegan butter
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
The Sauce:
- 1/2 cup sweet Thai chilli sauce
- 1/2 tbsp sriracha
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 clove minced garlic
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- In a frying pan over medium heat, melt the butter and add the plant-based sausages. Cook until heated throughout and crispy on the edges.
- Meanwhile in a small dish, add all sauce ingredients. Stir to combine and set aside in the fridge.
- On a cutting board, divide the dough into 8 equal balls. Roll until approximately 4″ long and 2″ wide.
- Slice the cooked sausages into thirds and roll dough up and around the pieces until fully wrapped, leaving the sausage on either side of the roll exposed.
- In a small dish, add the water and baking soda. Stir to combine.
- With a small basting brush, cover each bite with the baking soda mixture and place on a baking sheet. Sprinkle a pinch of sesame seeds over each piece and bake for 8-12 minutes or until golden brown on top and bottom.
- Stir together sauce ingredients.
- Remove from oven and serve hot with sauce!
