High Protein Plant-Based Wraps

Happy Monday! Mondays are often kind of crazy, getting back into the swing of it. That’s why I thought you could use a super easy recipe today: High Protein Plant-Based Wraps! These are not only great for packed lunches (trust me, they’ll keep you full all the way until dinner time!) but they’re an amazing post-workout meal too. Greg has been making them all week after his workouts and can’t get enough! That’s how you know its good. It has the Greg seal of approval!

Speaking of Mondays, I hope you all had a great weekend. I definitely did – it was sunny all weekend so there was lots of dog walks, sunny afternoon drives and iced coffee! I finally tried the Starbucks brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso drink (the one I made a copycat recipe of here) and can finally confirm that my version is just as good or even better than the ‘bucks!

Now that its there start of a new week, you may be itching for some new recipes or packed lunch ideas (if you’re not still working from home) and I promise these High Protein Plant Based Wraps are just the thing you need. I also wanted to mention that I use the ProteinUp brand wraps for these. They have 10g of protein per wrap and are so fluffy and soft. Really perfect for this recipe. However, any tortilla or pita will work too!

High Protein Plant-Based Wraps

Description

The tastiest high protein vegan wraps thanks to the wonderful products from Gusta! The secret ingredient is their vegan pâté spread on the wrap – adding so much flavour and delicious plant-based protein. Then we use some pan-fried seitan roast, hummus, shredded cheese, spinach, carrot and bbq sauce! Trust me, you’ll love it!

Ingredients

  • 2 large tortillas
  • 1/4 cup Gusta pate or creton
  • 2 tbsp hummus
  • 1/2 Gusta seitan roast, sliced
  • 1/4 cup shredded Gusta original cheese
  • Handful of spinach
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • Bbq sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. In a frying pan on medium heat, add the seitan roast slices and fry for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown.
  2. Place the tortillas on a clean work surface. Spread 2 tbsp pate on each wrap, followed by 1 tbsp hummus. Divide the slices of seitan between the wraps, followed by the shredded cheese, grated carrot, spinach and a drizzle of bbq sauce.
  3. Tuck in the ends of the wraps, then roll tightly. Slice in half and serve
