What Makes It A Pretzel?
I was shocked to find out how very simple pretzels are to make! It wasn’t until a couple of years ago when my wife Liv was making her delicious Cheeseburger Stuffed Pretzel Recipe that I realized how simple it is to turn an ordinary ball of dough into anything pretzel! I went one step further to make this extra easy on you all by substituting the homemade dough with store-bought pizza dough. BUT if you’re feeling adventurous, give this pizza dough recipe a try for that extra special homemade flavour!
All you need to do is douse the top of the dough in a mixture of water and baking soda… that’s it! I couldn’t believe it either. All this time, I thought a special process was needed to get the right kind of dough that browns perfectly on top, but somehow stays extremely soft and moist in the centre. That’s not the case after all and I, like I’m sure all of you are now, was so happy to find out that I can theoretically wrap just about anything in a simple dough and produce a quick and easy pretzel consistency!
